Madrid is even richer with the circuits and excursions
throughout its Community. Reliving Cervantes and the
Cisneros in Alcalá de Henares declared World Heritage,
overwhelmed by the lovely Jardines Reales de Aranjuez
and the soft murmur of its fountains.
Bewildered
by the Monasterio del Escorial, a solid and impressive
building with an overwhelming soberness and austerity.
Travelling in time at the charming Plaza Mayor de
Chinchón with its irregular surface, where we can find
two and three floor houses with extended balconies.
Circuits
as the one from the Monasterios along the beautiful
landscapes of the high basins of the Lozoya and
Manzanares river.
Castles,
fortresses and campaniles are a symbol of the Christian
Reconquest after the arrival the Muslims to the Iberian
Peninsula. Madrid was a passage from the Guadamarra
Sierra to the Tagus River, where we can find about
twenty of these naval constructions.
The Mudéjar Circuit, the Religious Museums Circuit, the
Imperial Circuit are a few examples, but there is a lot
more to be seen. |
